Features of The Oregon Cs1500

Oregon CS1500 18-inch 15 Amp Self-Sharpening Corded Electric Chainsaw, with Integrated Self-Sharpening System (PowerSharp) and Chain Brake for Safety, UL Certified, 2-Year Warranty, 120V

The chainsaw is powered by a low vibration 15 Amp electric motor that delivers an impressive four-horsepower and features a built-in PowerSharp self-sharpening system, which allows you to sharpen your chainsaw chain in 3 to 5 seconds.

The self-sharpening feature is integrated into the chainsaw and requires no extra tools or parts for it to work, greatly reducing downtime by eliminating the need for manual chainsaw sharpening.

In addition, this powerful chainsaw also comes with an automatic lubrication system that keeps the chainsaw lubricated for less friction and longer life, even in harsh environments.

The chainsaw also has safety features like a chain brake and reduced kickback guide bar, as well as tool-less tensioning to adjust the chain quickly and easily, a massive time-saving feature.

It also comes pre-assembled, so no assembly is required. If you don’t like to put things together and want to get to cutting firewood and trimming branches quickly, this is a big deal.

The chainsaw has an ergonomic design and a lightweight build that make it easy to use, and it comes with a two-year warranty from Oregon.

Integrated Self-Sharpening System (PowerSharp)

The integrated sharpened system built into the chainsaw really is a modern marvel. I must say being able to sharpen a chainsaw chain in as little as 3 to 5 seconds is pretty amazing.

If you accidentally dull your chain, it’s not a problem; you can re-sharpen it in seconds without removing the side cover or chain.

You simply pull back the sharpening stone lever with your index finger so the stone makes contact with the chain until it is sharpened. That’s all it takes!

The Oregon CS1500 self-sharpening chain is a specific chain and can be found HERE ON AMAZON.

I have not seen aftermarket chains as of yet. The chain manufacturer is Oregon, so you know you are getting a quality chain that won’t stretch or dull quickly. Oregon is the world’s leading manufacturer of chainsaw chains.

Any standard chain will technically work on the CS1500 if you remove the sharpening stone. However, the user will not be able to sharpen the chain with the integrated sharpening system. We did not test this out on the review unit and strongly recommend against doing this.

Chain Tensioning without Tools

The chainsaw also has an easy adjustment mechanism to tension the chainsaw without any tools. All you have to do is loosen the twist nut by hand and adjust the thumbwheel to your preferred chain tension; no special tools are needed.

This tool-less tensioning system makes it super easy to adjust the chain quickly and easily.

Corded Electric Power Benefits

The chainsaw is powered by an electric non-brushless motor that offers high performance without the need to refuel. As long as you have access to an electrical outlet, you have power and never have to worry about gasoline.

With its instant start, a corded chainsaw makes it easy to get working right away. Plus, they produce less noise than a gasoline chainsaw – making your work environment much more peaceful!

This type of chainsaw is ideal for working in areas where gas chainsaws are not allowed due to engine emissions or sound.

Corded Chainsaw Benefits

A corded chainsaw has many benefits that a cordless chainsaw can’t match. The two most important of which are unlimited run times, a much lower price, and no need to buy expensive batteries.

Don’t get me wrong; battery electric saws have their benefits, too, with the greatest being portability and not being tethered to an electrical outlet. However, most users, will be close enough to an electrical outlet, so portability should not be an issue in most cases.

Automatic Chain Lubrication

The electric saw also has an automatic lubrication system that helps keep the chainsaw running smoother and increases the lifespan of the guide bar and chain. The automatic oiler distributes oil to the bar and chain as you cut, meaning you don’t have to worry about manual lubrication or premature wear.

The only thing you have to do is make sure there is lubrication oil in the saw’s oil reservoir. You can find the oil HERE ON AMAZON.
